Spadefish: On Patrol With A Top-Scoring World War II Submarine
Experience warfare in America's "Silent Service" as related through more than five dozen first hand accounts by Spadefish officers and enlisted men. The book is 480 pages in soft-cover format. It includes rosters, commendation lists, sinking lists, and dozens of photographs and maps.
This is a GREAT submarine book! Although Spadefish was late coming to the war (July of 1944), she quickly made up for lost time. In her five war patrols, she rolled up some impressive results fifth of all U.S. submarines in total tonnage sunk and sixth in number of ships sunk. Steve Moore has written a very detailed but also very readable book about a top submarine that has not, until now, received the credit it was due. When Japanese targets in the Pacific were becoming scarce, Spadefish became one of the first submarines to penetrate the Tsushima Strait and enter the Sea of Japan, where she wreaked havoc with Japanese shipping she found there. This book is also notable for the attention it pays to the experiences of Spadefish's crew members.- James F. Calvert, Vice Admiral, USN (Ret), author of Silent Running

Ghostly Tales From America's Jails
Curl up with 36 stories, complete with photos, of historical hoosegows from all over the United States. Each jail or prison is now a location for good guys like you to visit, transformed to museums, offices, a theater, even a B&B where the long-deceased sheriff locks up at night!
Considering what happened in these facilities, no wonder a few sundry ghosts have lingered: prisoners destined to replay their misery or guards who never get to retire. Investigators of the paranormal seek verification by way of film, thermal readings, heart rates, and electronic voice phenomena. But as several ghost hunter sites quote Derk Acorah: "To a believer, no proof is necessary. To a disbeliever, no proof is enough."
Get to know the writers through their bios and photos. They'll bring you stories told by people who have experienced the events-from either side of the bars. Museum curators, tour guides, correctional officers, prisoners, and even visitors encounter sounds, scents, sights, and tactile sensations that chill them to the marrow. Yet there's humor too, so have a haunting good time with the tales they've dug up for you.

A Ghost in My Suitcase: A Guide to Haunted Travel in America
Pack up your traveling shoes, fire up the family car, and prepare to hit the road for a haunted tour of America. Join author Mitchel Whitington as he takes you on a ghostly tour through the U.S.!
One of the most fascinatingly, frightful fun books that I’ve read in a long time. No matter where you are going in the U.S., the author has a ghostly place for you to visit. The stories of these hauntings are matched only by the historical background that you’ll find in every chapter. A Ghost in My Suitcase is a delightfully spooky read! – Chris Pennell, Director of Spirit Quest Paranormal
I love this book! There are MANY haunted locations, all with photos, and the author includes a site for each of the 50 states. One of my favorite stories was from the Irma Hotel in Cody, Wyoming. The author and his wife personally experienced a ghostly phenomenon right there in the room – I was absolutely chilled! Mitchel Whitington is totally believable and credible; he is a great writer. A Ghost in My Suitcase is highly recommended! – Lindy Ashner, www.HauntedColorado.net

A Paranormal Casebook: Ghost Hunting in the New Millennium
Loyd Auerbach, Director of the Office of Paranormal Inestigations, has been investigating cases of apparations, hauntings, and poltergeists for over a quarter century. In his latest book, you will read tales such as the case of the peeping-Tom ghost, strange footsteps in an attic, the water-tossing poltergeist, and the ghost who likes to party.
Loyd Auerbach is one of the longest running veterans in the paranormal investigation field and his experience really shines through in this book. I like the extra detail and candor that he puts into his stories - you come away with the feeling that Mr. Auerbach is someone that you can trust. One of the most fascinating and original stories is about a pilot whose plane was seen, heard and cited by the FAA for exceeding noise levels. The problem is that the incident occurred six hours AFTER the pilot's death - and the plane was in a museum! The case files also begin with a summary prologue of the activity reported before the team went on site; which can aid in diagnosing phenomena of your own by comparing 'symptoms'. Mr. Auerbach also has some strong insights into the nature of ghosts and how investigations should be conducted. -- Society for Paranormal Investigation

60 Years of the Outland Trophy is a compilation of stories about the 59 different Outland Trophy Winners since 1946. Named after the late Dr. John Outland, the Outland Trophy honors the best interior linemen in college football-- the unsung players who do the blocking and protecting for skilled players. Often overlooked by the main stream media, the linemen have provided pivotal support for some of the greatest “name” players in the game. The colorful and often unique stories of these linemen, the “big uglies,” are a must-read for college football fans everywhere.
The Outland Trophy has a wonderful history and recognizes the players who do all the dirty work inside the trenches. This book does a great job highlighting these players and paying tribute to an award that will stand the test of time. - Shawn Schoeffler, Vice President, Media Relations, Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.
This is a comprehensive look at one of the most prestigous awards in college sports. Gene Duffey has captured, for the first time, the accomplishments and lives of these great Outland winners. A great read! - Dennis Dodd, CBS www.SportsLine.com , Football Writers Association of America 2006 president
The first cliche every coach utters about his teams is forever the same: 'It starts up front.' These are tales from the front. - Alan Schmadtke, Orlando Sentinel, 2005 FWAA President.
Seldom does an interior lineman garner headline attention, and rarely does he touch the ball. However, it's the lineman who serves as the heart and soul of every football team. The Outland Trophy stands for grit and determination. This book celebrates the essence of the sport's true unsung hero.- Charlie Fiss, AT&T Cotton Bowl Vice President, Communications
